Are you passionate about creating authentic Italian dishes? Toscano Bar & Kitchen, a cozy family-owned cocktail wine bar and restaurant, is looking for a skilled Pizza Chef to bring delicious, traditional Italian meals to our customers. Our restaurant seats up to 50 guests, and our menu is loved by many. We’re committed to maintaining our high-quality standards, and we need someone who shares that dedication.

Employment Type:
• Position: Full-time
• Hours: 38 to 42 hours per week, with two days off
• Shift: 8 hours per shift
• Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum, plus superannuation
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and present high-quality Italian dishes, with a focus on pizzas.
• Study and refine current recipes and contribute to menu modifications.
• Develop and prepare a weekly special to delight our customers.
• Assist in creating a canapés menu for function bookings.
• Ensure meals are prepared promptly and meet our presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, following sanitation regulations.
• Oversee weekly and monthly kitchen cleaning, as well as thorough cleaning during and after each shift.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a chef or cook, with a focus on Italian cuisine and pizza making.
• Education: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Skills:
o Strong knowledge of traditional Italian cooking techniques.
o Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils.
o Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
• Commuting/Relocation: Ability to commute to or relocate near the restaurant.
• Work Authorization: Must have a valid work permit to work lawfully in Australia for a full-time position.
