The Role
The HSEQ Coordinator plays key role in setting standards, aligning best practices, and developing capability across the organisation. As a subject matter expert, the HSEQ Advisor assesses and critically analyses the company's current HSEQ status and recommends, develops and implements HSEQ and risk strategies, process improvements and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and improve health, safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Perform regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits across the organisation to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks
Develop and deliver training programs on HSEQ policies and procedures to improve employee awareness, understanding, and compliance
- Manage and investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, and recommend preventive measures
- Implement and optimise our QA and QC systems and processes, including ISO9001 and NATA accreditations and take a lead in our drive towards best practice
- Analyse HSEQ performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with various departments to implement improvements
- Provide HSEQ support for our branches (Darwin, Bunbury, Karratha, Perth)
- Assist in the development of robust and authentic ESG approaches and embed these as core values and behaviours
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Cert 4 qualification in WHS / Occupational Health & Safety (Essential)
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to health & safety (Desirable)
- Trade background (Desirable)
- First Aid Certificate
- Strong attention to detail
- A great written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Office365 skills (Word, Excel, MS Projects, Teams)
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control (particularly ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001 and ISO26000)
