Kogan People Solutions are delighted to assist our client who operate a well-regarded and popular welcoming roadhouse in Captains Mountain, QLD. The busy restaurant which forms part of the complex offers a spacious dining room and it is the ideal place to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner and all things in between.
During the day, this friendly restaurant offers a variety of popular and well-prepared breakfast, lunch and grazing options. This restaurant also serves dinner, with their speciality curries being a favourite amongst the locals.
Our client is now seeking a skilled and qualified Chef to lead the hardworking and cohesive team.
Location - Captains Mountain, QLD
Salary – A top salary in the range of $70k to $80k plus superannuation per annum will be offered to the successful applicant.
Tenure - This is a full time (38 hours per week), ongoing position, requiring rotating shifts from 5am to midnight, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, train, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.
• Prepare and cook meals and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.
• Develop, test, and introduce new menu items.
• Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
• Work alongside the management team
About you:
• You have a passion for the hospitality industry and are up to date on techniques and food trends.
• You can demonstrate an unwavering commitment to flavour and presentation of the highest quality, whilst aligning and motivating a cohesive and hardworking team environment.
• You have the ability to work under pressure.
To succeed in this role, you:
• Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Diploma level.
• Have at least 2 to 3 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.
• Are available for shifts across the working week, from 5am to midnight, 7 days a week.
• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
• Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
• Understand cost control, time management, prioritization and cost-efficient procurement practices.
• Have substantial experience working in a similar role and environment.
• You are an excellent people manager, with great communication skills, and are able to get the most out of your team.
• Offer unrestricted full time Australian working rights.
