Due to the recent and upcoming further expansion of our business operation, CH on Peel Pty Ltd (trading as Central Hospitality Group) requires additional full time Chefs/Cooks. Our operations are situated at Tamworth, in North West NSW, and include:
• CH Boutique Hotel (62 rooms)
• CH Boutique Apartments (12 apartments)
• Heritage listed DECO Wine Bat & Restaurant
• Hopscotch Restaurant and Bar
• The Pig & Tinderbox
• The Pavilion Function and Conference Centre
• The Bureau by Red Ribbon, and
• Dungowan Brewery
A successful candidate will be offered a remuneration package based on their experience and skill set between $58,000 - $75,000 plus statutory superannuation.
The key duties of the role will include a selection of the duties outlined below and will be commensurate with skill level of Chef or Cook:
• Operate our kitchens and meeting KPI targets
• Assisting with selecting and recruiting kitchen staff
• Training kitchen staff in processing, cooking and high-end food presentation techniques
• Overseeing and preparing, cooking and presenting dishes
• Inspect and prepare fresh ingredients for cooking and meal preparation
• Operation of kitchen equipment to achieve required results for a la carte and function service
• Utilise understanding of stock control and work together with the kitchen team to minimise wastage.
• Ordering of stock and maintaining stock levels.
• Personal preparation of high-end signature dishes and attending on select guests
• Working with service managers to update and improve menus across our kitchens
• Ensuring our kitchens are maintained above regulated hygiene standards
• Understanding of liquor licensing laws and compliance
• Rostering kitchen staff and managing day to day issues
The Person
• A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent is preferred. For those without a qualification, additional relevant work experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 2-3 years relevant commercial kitchen experience (2 professional references are preferred)
• Be able to work independently
• Experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Willingness to be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team
• A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work nights and weekends
