Typical projects involve bulk and detailed excavation, concrete structure construction, concreting, drainage and conduit placement. Additionally, the organisation own and manage a fleet of plant equipment available for internal use and external hire.
We are seeking a construction project manager to join our projects team for ongoing projects in Metropolitan Sydney and Regional NSW. THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager (10 years minimum experience in same or similar role) who is capable of delivering projects from $5m to $20m+. You will be able to manage all safety, environment and quality aspects of a project and follow an ISO certified Project Management Plan, including but not limited to ITPs, NCRs, Audits and Continuous Improvement.

Salary offered: $150,000 to $159,000 plus super

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Assist the Senior Project Manager to define project scoping, budget and cost estimation tasks and assisting in Contract document formulation, production, tendering, tender assessment and award functions.
• Ensure that the customer is satisfied and that the project is completed to a high quality
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to understand the project details and requirements.
• Negotiate with external contractors to attain competitive rates for project tasks.
• Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Delegate tasks and assign responsibilities to personnel and ensure they are carried out.
• Monitor the performance of personnel on site and provide directions and feedback as and when required.
• Ensure all legal, health and safety regulations are being followed throughout the project.
• Work in accordance with all Quay Civil and/ or Principal Contractor OH&S, Environmental and Quality plans, policies and procedures and promote a safe working environment.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as instructed by supervisors.
• Work in a manner that maintains a workplace free from harassing, discriminatory, offensive and/ or bullying behaviours.

REQUIREMENTS
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or commensurate equivalent
• White Card Construction Induction
• Senior First Aid and CPR
• Australian Driver’s license and regular access to a car
• High risk work licences (desirable)

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO SUCCEED
• 10+ years proven experience in civil or related construction fields.
• Experience in cost reporting and programming
• Experience in contract administration
• Supervisory experience
• Able to interpret architectural drawings
• A solid technical knowledge of the construction process
• The ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, staff and the local community, using a variety of communication methods and tools
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018
• High level design management, stakeholder/ client management and contractor management experience.
• Physical fitness to perform the required tasks, including accessing site.
• Able to work autonomously or as part of a dynamic team.
• Maintain a positive “can do” attitude with high attention to safety and quality
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol screen and provide evidence of COVID vaccination to meet some site requirements.
