Position: Chef (Trainer and Menu Development Specialist)
Salary: $73,500 Plus 11.5% Superannuation
Hours: 38-40 hours
Mode: Full time
Location: Shop No - 4/41 - 55 Leakes Rd, Laverton North VIC 3026
Experience required: 2 years plus experience in relevant roles

Chatkora's is a family run business following our family passion & mother recipes. It's a pure vegetarian joint serving daily freshly food cooked. It is a place where you can find authentic Delhi taste & food served only for vegetarian lovers. We are looking for an experienced Chef (Trainer and Menu Development Specialist) to join our elite team.

The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for kitchen staff.
• Train staff in advanced culinary techniques and the preparation of new international dishes.
• Mentor and guide kitchen staff in best practices for kitchen management, including hygiene, safety, and efficiency.
• Design and introduce new vegetarian Indo-Chinese dishes to diversify and expand the menu.
• Ensure that new menu items meet high standards of quality and appeal to a broad customer base.
• Work closely with kitchen staff to refine and perfect new recipes.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure consistency and excellence.
• Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
• Provide ongoing feedback and support to kitchen staff to ensure continuous improvement.
• Assist in streamlining kitchen operations to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Implement best practices for inventory management, minimizing waste, and optimizing resources.
• Collaborate with management to ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and effectively.
• Perform all duties within the defined period of three months, focusing on training and menu expansion.
• Conclude role once objectives are achieved, aligning with the non-ongoing nature of the work.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Cert III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not mandatory).
• Diploma of Hospitality (Preferred but not mandatory)
• Expertise in vegetarian Indo-Chinese cuisine.
• Proven experience in training and developing kitchen staff.
• Strong knowledge of advanced culinary techniques and kitchen management practices.
• Ability to design and introduce innovative and appealing menu items.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
