Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter / Panel Beater to join our small team on the Northside of Brisbane. This role involves small to medium panel repairs, full-body painting, and S.M.A.R.T vehicle touch-ups. You will work independently on-site and contribute to our reputation for excellent customer service and top-notch automotive repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, ensuring a flawless finish.
• Operate spray painting equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and hoses.
• Carefully mask off areas that shouldn’t be painted, showcasing strong attention to detail.
• Perform panel beating and prepare surfaces for painting.
• Mix and match paint colors to achieve the perfect shade, applying primers and finishing coats with spray guns.
• Smooth out surfaces between coats by sanding, and touch up any imperfections before applying polish.
• Remove masking materials and complete the job with waxing and polishing.
• Apply rust-proofing treatments to vehicles as needed.
Skills and Experience:
• Formal qualifications in vehicle painting or a related field.
• Ideally, have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the industry.
• Highly skilled in painting a range of surfaces, including rolling stock.
• Strong knowledge of preparing surfaces, mixing substances, and applying paint.
• Experience with 2-pack spray painting and surface preparation is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
