The Polyglot Group is seeking a Construction Manager for our client to work in Cooma in a full-time position. Our client is one of the world’s largest engineering consultancy companies with more than 150 years of experience providing high-quality engineering and consulting services.
The role
The Construction Manager attends to the Client‘s needs in technical assistance with respect to Construction Support Services scope during the construction phase for the infrastructures and/or discipline under his/her perimeter. His/her main focus is to check the compliance of the construction works with the design’s intent, and resolve issues related to the design that may arise during construction.
He/she works in close liaison with his/her Team Leader from Home Office office in the Production Center (PC) with his/her DJV peers within the Resident Engineering Design Site (REDS) Team and with the Australia Lead Design Team.
The perimeter of the Construction Manager is the Power Station Complex (PSC) under the scope of our client. Such perimeter may be punctually extended pending of the project and REDS Team needs.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of the design and develop a comprehensive knowledge of the DJV’s Service Agreement with the Client (and associated relevant documents) for the services related to technical assistance during the construction;
Assimilate and take the lead on the activities of the DJV in response to the Client’s requests for technical assistance in relation to the DJV design and services. This will be performed mainly via the processes and deliverables associated with DCRs, FCRs, NCRs and RFIs;
Facilitate the interfaces between the Client and the Production Centers (PC) in the resolution of design issues related to the construction works.
Qualifications and skills
Tertiary qualified Geotechnical Engineer with 12+ years of experience in geotechnical assessment of Underground Structures;
8 + years engineering experience on large scale projects;
5 + years experience of underground works;
Experience of working with international teams;
Knowledge of software such as Planisware, Rocscience, GEM4D and Surpac;
Current DGSC
Fluency in English, good knowledge of French and/or Italian will be a plus.
