Interior Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our in-house design team. This team plays a crucial role in preserving the design ethos that bridges our development and property management arms. By creating intelligent designs that combine functionality with style, we offer a unique point of difference in the industry.



Tasks and Responsibilities:

Plan the interior decoration of commercial and residential premises by consulting with clients and other stakeholders.
Inspect client premises and arrange for interior decorating requirements.
Analyse client’s needs and stay updated with industry best practices.
Create design concepts for building interiors.
Prepare a final decoration package including drawings, quotes, and costs for work and materials.
Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project stakeholders, including team members, clients, vendors, and other relevant parties.
Investigate the suitability of products and materials for use and maintenance.
Review plans and quotes for accuracy. Prepare, maintain, and update project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
Plan and develop designs that balance clients’ expectations and the company’s objectives by negotiating design solutions with clients, management, suppliers, and construction staff.
Advise clients on the best furniture and decoration style.
Craft comprehensive layout plans that outline and document specific interior design choices and arrangements for the construction process.
Supervise decorating work or perform work personally. Inspect sites during construction to maintain alignment with specifications.
Respond to and manage allocated budgets.
Provide creative control and leadership to the in-house team.
Deliver comprehensive solutions that optimize the end experience for the user.
Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate them to the project manager and director as necessary. Keep stakeholders informed about project status and any changes or deviations from the plan.
Prepare design tender presentation packages and materials.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing strong networks with contractors and suppliers.
Keep abreast of industry trends by maintaining up-to-date product knowledge. Share insights with the team and motivate junior team members to attend supplier presentations and industry events, fostering accountability.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and outreach efforts.
Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients.
Support the design team in preparing articulate client presentations and supporting pitch collateral, both in print and digital formats.
Work collaboratively with directors to build strong working relationships and foster a positive, innovative work culture.



Skills and Experience:

Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or progress towards a postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience related to commercial or residential interior design.
At least 5+ years of Australian experience OR at least 8+ years of overseas experience.
Excellent skills in producing 3D renders.
Advanced skills in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Suite.
Excellent design concepts and creative design skills, particularly with residential projects.
Knowledge of NCC & Australian Standards.
Enthusiastic with good communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team.
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
