About the Role

The Senior Solution Architect plays a key role in shaping the future of Datacom Cloud, crafting innovative designs and developing strategic roadmaps. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, they strive to optimize cloud operations and enhance delivery by leveraging agile methodologies. Their responsibilities include delivering high-quality technical designs, providing support for RFPs, and work across a broad range of technologies. They maintain a deep understanding of the deployed technologies and constantly update their professional certifications to ensure the provision of exceptional service.

What you’ll do (your why)

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the diverse range of technologies utilized in the Datacom Cloud, including computing, storage, data protection, networking, and automation.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across Datacom to develop a unified and compelling cloud vision and value proposition.
  • Working closely alongside the Datacom Cloud Engineering and Product teams.
  • Delivering projects that encompass high-level solution architecture, meticulous design, and rigorous quality assurance.
  • Crafting tailored solutions that meet the specific requirements of Datacom Cloud customers.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to automate processes and drive cost reductions.
  • Providing technical leadership in Infrastructure and Cloud to enhance the effectiveness of the entire team.
  • Fostering strong relationships and fostering collaboration across all areas of the business, particularly with other Architects, to champion the business's objectives.
  • Supporting architectural governance forums and guiding fellow Architects in optimizing designs and ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Offering escalated support and thought leadership to other teams, while mentoring junior architects to enhance the team's capabilities.
  • Collaborating closely with the sales and pre-sales teams, contributing expertise and crafting responses to tenders and customer requests.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities that foster a culture of exceptional service and innovation.
  • Supporting and facilitating organizational changes arising from business improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring operational discipline by adhering to Datacom and client processes, policies, and procedures.

What you’ll bring

·       Strong design and hands-on experience with various Storage solutions (Block, File, and Object)

·       Practical experience and excellent understanding of working with Enterprise Storage platforms, with a preference for Dell-EMC

·       Experience in a multi-tenanted Cloud environment

·       High-level knowledge and design experience with the various technologies used in the Datacom Private Cloud

·       Practical experience working with Virtualised environments running on VMware, Hyper-V or other hypervisors - specifically with VMware

·       Exceptional hands-on experience in delivering infrastructure, cloud, IT outsourcing, storage, backup, network, and/or cloud adoption/migration projects

·       Design and hands-on experience in networking, including Cisco switching and routing, SDN, ACI, and VMware NSX-T

·       Experience in additional key VMware technologies, including vCloud-Director and VCF

·       Practical experience working with Enterprise Backup Management Platforms such as NetBackup or Veeam

·       Experience with automation, including CI/CD pipelines, coding and scripting languages, practices, and toolsets
