Electrical Technician

Mainline Automotive Equipment designs, manufactures and supports innovative and high-quality automotive chassis dynamometers within Australia and exports to numerous countries worldwide.

A full-time position exists for an Electrical Technician to be part of our manufacturing team based at our Smeaton Grange facility.
The Technician will perform routine tasks to assemble dynamometer workstation cabinet assemblies, including mechanical assembly, installation of components into electrical enclosures and basic fitting work.

This will involve reading assembly drawings and electrical wiring schematics, using electrical and mechanical assembly equipment, including specialised test equipment to ensure that the assembled workstation cabinet is functioning correctly.

Responsibilities include:

• Assembling electronic and mechanical parts, inspection, operating, installing, testing using hand tools and electronic and mechanical test equipment.
• Recording information on all manufactured workstation assemblies.
• Thorough understanding of electronic assembly and electrical circuits, including assembly into enclosures.
• Conduct final testing of completed workstations
• Cable manufacturing and soldering experience
• Effectively communicate with management and other staff.

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualifications or extensive electrical work experience of hands-on experience in manufacturing or assembling electrical systems. (3+ years’ experience in a similar role)
• Familiar with electrical and electronic equipment assembly and systems.
• Ability to read, interpret and document electrical schematics.
• Cable manufacturing and soldering experience
• Fluent PC skills
• Time management skills
• Being well organised and have attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
• Current working rights for Australia are essential.
