About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Kitchen Hand to join our team at Eureka 89 on a casual basis. The primary purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the kitchen, preparing food, assisting with meal services and maintaining a clean kitchen area and equiptment to comply with food safety guidelines.
Reporting to the Chef, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Food handling and preparation: Receive, lift, handle, and store food deliveries. Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients. Retrieve food items as requested by chefs
- Maintain cleanliness: Keep food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, benchtops, floors, ovens, and ranges clean to ensure a hygienic environment for food handling and preparation
- General kitchen support: Wash dishes, pots, utensils, and crockery. Keep working areas clear, dispose of trash, and comply with work health and safety policies and procedures. Additionally, be prepared to support with other duties as required
You may be required to work any of the seven days of the calendar week, including weekends and gazetted public holidays. A standard working day can consist of up to 12 working hours, within the hours of 07:00hrs and 01:00hrs.
About You
The ideal candidate will be passionate and proud of the food and service they deliver, and be willing to go above and beyond to create ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can do" attitude.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role, with previous Kitchen hand experience
- Food Handling Safety Certificate (essential, or willing to obtain upon commencement)
- Provide First Aid (preferred)
- Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, with high fluency in English
- Ability to manage time effectively, especially under pressure
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Proven ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Entitlement to work in Australia
