Redlea Citrus is looking for Irrigationist Assistants to join our farming team. The key responsibilities are: Determining hydraulic parameters for irrigation systems Implementing irrigation-related programs Scheduling irrigations Selecting and managing pumping systems for irrigation Interpreting and applying irrigation designs Supervising and conducting irrigation system installations Supervising and conducting irrigation maintenance
About you
We're looking for candidates who share our values and passion to contribute to the success of our citrus farming operations. To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: Prior experience managing, leading or supervising on a horticulture farm, including experience in overseeing labour, growing, irrigation, and working to financial outcomes. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team. A strong drive to achieve and a passion for farming. A background or experience in irrigation, or citrus will be highly regarded. Prior experience operating a tractor and other farm machinery will be highly regarded. Comprehensive knowledge of horticulture practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions. Self-motivation and the ability to work both in teams and independently.
General farm work will usually be paid on an hourly basis. You will be working an average of 38 hours a week. Employment will be under the Redlea Citrus Enterprise Agreement. Job classification under award level 1 and hourly rate is $22.61. There are some tasks (usually picking) that maybe preformed under piecework agreement.

Hours during harvest can be long and rostered work often includes weekends. You will need to ensure you are available to work all hours that are rostered to you.
The exact duration of the working day cannot be predicted. As that are dictated by factors such as weather or fruit quality on the day. This is a labour intensive job and work can be repetitive. If you have never worked on a farm before please consider this before you apply. Please note Redlea Citrus is only seeking applicants who are available to work for at least 6 months.
