Pakistani/Indian Cuisine Chef
Salary - $70,000 to $80,000 plus Superannuation

About the role
We're looking for a Full-Time Chef for our restaurant in Fawkner, Victoria. We need someone who has some prior experience in preparing Pakistani Cuisine and available to work 5 days a week.
Role and Responsibilities
? Plan and develop menus to ensure high quality food products and restaurant profitability.
? Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
? Preparing and cooking traditional Indian and Pakistani dishes such as Chicken karahi, Pulao, Biryani, Samosa, Butter chicken, Naan and a variety of BBQ and vegetarian dishes
? Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
? Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, Estimate food requirements and food costs.
? Train and clean kitchen and work area.
? Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
? Monitor food stock and place orders.
? Check freshness of food and discard out of date items.
? Ability to communicate efficiently
? Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.
? Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
? Excellent organisational skills.
? Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
? The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
? Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
? Team Player
? A proactive approach to system improvements
? Knowledge of HACCP and relevant Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

Skills and experience
• Must have an experience of 3 years minimum in Indian or Pakistani food from Australia or Overseas
• Applicant must have Qualifications/Certification in Commercial Cookery from Australia or Overseas
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Excellent time management skills. Available to work on weekends.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
