As a Fitter and Turner Apprentice, you’ll receive hands-on training in the following areas:

  • Precision Machining: Learn to operate lathes, milling machines, and other cutting-edge machinery to produce high-quality components
  • Mechanical Assembly: Gain expertise in assembling and disassembling complex mechanical systems
  • Maintenance and Repair: Develop skills in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Technical Drawings: Understand and interpret engineering drawings to create precision parts and assemblies
  • Safety Practices: Learn and apply workplace safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment

Gaining a qualification as an Apprentice Fitter & Turner defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson – mechanical within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. 

To be considered for this position, you must be a genuine and reliable candidate who is looking to start a career in Engineering - Mechanical trade.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a nationally recognised qualification: Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed Year 10 or equivalent
  • Genuine interest in mechanics, machining, and hands-on problem-solving
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to acquire new skills
  • Precision and accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and technical subjects
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Preferably have a car and licence or access to reliable transport to work
