Chelsea Hair & Nails Salon in Monee Ponds, in Victoria is looking for energetic, passionate and motivated qualified Hairdresser to join their creative, friendly salon on a fulltime basis.
The Role
As a Hairdresser, you will be competent and confident in all aspects of hairdressing including colouring, cutting and blow drying, possesses friendly personality, excellent customer service skills, great communication skills, creative, quick learner, well-groomed and well-presented. You will demonstrate a passion for working and willing to work flexible hours in a friendly, supportive team in a happy and professional work environment.
This is a full-time role with an annual salary between $74,000 to $75,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Meet with clients to discuss their hairstyle preferences and any changes they want. This may include assessing hair texture, condition, and color.
Perform haircuts, trims, and styling according to client requests. This includes using scissors, clippers, and razors to achieve desired looks.
Apply hair color, highlights, or lowlights as requested by clients. This involves mixing and applying dye, as well as ensuring proper timing and processing.
Wash client’s hair using appropriate products and apply conditioners or treatments to maintain hair health.
Create special hairstyles for events or occasions, such as weddings or formal functions.
Provide a high level of customer service, including advising clients on hair care and maintenance, handling appointments, and managing any client concerns or complaints.
Clean and maintain hairdressing tools and equipment, such as scissors, clippers, and styling tools, to ensure they are in good working condition.
Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
Sell hair care products and recommend products that clients might use at home.
Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and products in the hairdressing industry.
Requirements
In order to be shortlisted for this position, the right candidate needs to have:
Relevant qualification such as Certificate III / Certificate IV in Hairdressing
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in cutting both male and female hairstyles
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in hair cutting and colouring
Must have strong knowledge in colour theory and technique
Be motivated and enjoy working in a team
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Skills in hair colouring, straightening, perming, curling, etc.
Be able to self-manage and work efficiently
Display an excellent attention to detail
Be able to handle pressure in a professional manner
Have positive past employment work references
Able to work on weekends
