About the organisation
The Victorian Asbestos Eradication Agency (VAEA) was established in to prioritise, and plan for, the removal of asbestos from Victorian government buildings to make Victorian workplaces and communities safe. A subsidiary of WorkSafe Victoria, the VAEA is an independent government body with its own Board of Directors that reports to the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC. The VAEA has recently been granted $19.3 million in the /25 state budget to ensure the safe removal and disposal of asbestos in government-owned buildings.
