Direct Focus Solutions As a psychologist within the DFS multidisciplinary team, you will develop therapy plans and provide psychological services and practice support. Clients may be referred to the organisation through a variety of streams, such as GPs, partner organisations, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) contracts, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Primary Health Networks (PHNs), Victims Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and self-referrals. Psychologists are expected to apply their specialist knowledge and theory derived from research to assist a wide array of individuals and their families with emotional, mental, physiological or behavioural issues. This will occur through the processes of assessment, formulation and diagnosis based on neurological, biological, social and psychological factors, and applying therapeutic interventions using evidence-based modalities. You will also be expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement therapy plans and individual/group programs for clients. The aforementioned practices are to be undertaken within an individual’s area and level of expertise and with due regard to ethical, legal, and professional standards. BenefitsTask & Responsibilities Main Duties / Responsibilities of Role Provide high quality services to clients referred from all the allocated referral streams Assist participants in addressing underlying causes of behaviours of concern or challenging behaviours in a way that reduces the occurrence and impact of these on their life Provide high quality communication to clients, their families, primary carers, health professionals and other providers Safeguard the dignity and quality of life of people with disabilities Maintain accurate and confidential documentation consistent with the Company’s care policy and professional ethics Identify and be part of proactive responses to service issues Contribute to service level activities as they relate to clinical work Produce written communication according to standards and commit to peer review Prepare reports for clients and funding bodies as directed and supervised Provide management and oversight of junior staff members as agreed with DFS management Quality Assurance Tasks / Accountabilities of Role Achieve an attendance rate of [5] clients per full day Provide service delivery availability of up to [7] hours per day where required Participate in quality activities including service review, incident review, complaints management, planning and development processes, clinical audits, and research Prioritise workload demands in a manner that permits timely delivery of clinical services, clinical supervision, consultation, and ongoing professional development Demonstrate a commitment to client focussed service delivery and augmentation of clinical skills/expertise over time Ensure appropriate client documentation can be accessed at any time as required At all times during your employment you must: devote the whole of your time, attention and skill during normal working hours and at othertimes as reasonably necessary to perform your duties; perform the duties reasonably required or directed by the Employer from time to time, irrespective of which position you hold; follow and comply with all reasonable and lawful directions given to you by the Employer; Seek and incorporate, where applicable, feedback from the organisation, medical/allied health practitioners, and clients Maintaining Performance and Professional Development Maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge through involvement in ongoing professional support Participate in regular supervision and Professional Development opportunities if required Respectfully work to resolve differences between allied health specialist and/or other staff Participate positively in performance appraisals Maintain compliance with performance management principles Complete yearly CPD requirements in compliance with professional standards   Qualification & Experience Experience and Qualifications Required Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)  Attributes / Qualities Required Attributes / Qualities Required Professional approach Ability to work under pressure Organisational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail Confident manner Positive approach to change About Company Direct Focus Solutions is an allied health and disability and community supports provider that delivers services such as psychology and counselling, occupational therapy, speech pathology, neurofeedback, social work, and support work.
