Chefs Required
Located in the heart of Burwood NSW, Food Home Pty Ltd operates as SparQling Pizza & Grill ultra-modern Italian and Mediterranean cuisines in a fine dine-in facility.
We are seeking 2 x full-time Chefs to complement our kitchen team and lead our kitchen operations. Salary offered is $74,000 to $78,000 plus superannuation depending on the skills and experience of the candidate(s).
Candidates should ideally have a Diploma plus Certificate IV in Culinary field, or equivalent at level experience. You should demonstrate sound culinary knowledge, leadership skills and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key tasks and responsibilities for the Chef includes:
• Prepare signature items and dishes as well as dietary orders
• Daily guidance, coordination, and supervision for the kitchen staff and juniors
• Develop recipes and trial various presentation styles whilst maintaining signature flavours, freshness, and nutritive value.
• Plan daily menus and specials, and ensure the presentation is of the highest order
• Work closely with the management to plan menus and determine costings for events and functions.
• Quality control the freshness of food, poultry, seafood, and ingredients
• Identify and respond to the industry trends as well as local competition
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
• Stock orders, stock control and food circulation for maximising their lifespan
• Train and lead subordinates on daily tasks and provide mentorship as required
• Coordinate and participate with other sections on compliance and wastage
