BEEYA CARE PTY LTD BEEYA Care Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Disabilities Services Officer with at least 5 years of experience and a minimum  bachelor's degree in the related field to be based in Templestowe Lower, northeast Melbourne.   Benefits The salary for this full-time position is $74,000- $77,000 + superannuation Task & Responsibilities Assessment of Emotional and Cognitive Needs: Conducting thorough assessments to identify the emotional and cognitive needs of individuals with disabilities and preparing relevant reports. Development and Implementation of Educational Programs: Designing and implementing educational and rehabilitation programs tailored to the individual needs of each client. Communication Support: Using Braille, Sign language, and Lip-reading for effective communication with Persian-speaking clients who have hearing and visual impairments. Providing bilingual support to Persian and English-speaking clients to ensure clear and effective communication. Innovative Approaches in Communication and Education: Utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) methods for communication and training of families, staff, and the target community. Specialised Support: Providing targeted support and interventions for children with various special needs, including visual and auditory impairments, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, autism, ADHD, communication, and motor impairments. Training and Education: Providing life skills and job skills training to children with autism and other disabilities, considering Persian culture and language. Counselling to Families and Staff: Providing specialised counselling to families and staff associated with individuals with disabilities to improve the quality of services delivered and to address their specific needs and challenges. Providing Support in Persian: Delivering services and support to individuals with disabilities and their families in Persian. Use of Technology and Tools: Utilising games and digital tools like Brain Club to assess community needs, implement educational programs, and train families and staff. Conducting Research: Conducting research related to the needs and educational and rehabilitation methods for individuals with disabilities, especially Persian speakers and bilingual individuals, to improve service quality and better plan. Cultural and Linguistic Planning: Developing educational plans that consider the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of Persian-speaking clients.  Educational Workshops and Seminars: Organising and conducting workshops and training sessions for new staff and parents, focusing on special needs education.  Qualification & Experience At least 5 years of experience in providing services to individuals with disabilities in educational settings or disability support centres A minimum bachelor's degree or above in social work, psychology, developmental education, counselling or other relevant fields. Competency across the above tasks and responsibilities Experience working with bilingual Persian/English-speaking individuals and understanding their needs and challenges. Skills in educating families and staff using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Applied Behaviour Analysis therapies. Experience using technology and digital tools to assess community needs and implement educational programs. Experience in working with and educating children with autism, as well as familiarity with new scientific methods for communicating with autism and their families. Ability to use Braille, sign language, and lip-reading to communicate with individuals with hearing and visual impairments. Proficiency in both Persian and English for effective communication with bilingual Persian/English-speaking clients.
