On behalf of our client, we are seeking a full-time experienced Accountant to undertake relevant accounting tasks for the company.
Tasks and duties:
• Analysing company’s income and expenses
• Preparing financial statements.
• Creating budgets and forecasts.
• Managing cash flows and investments.
• Liaising with external tax agents, banks, insurance and ATO.
• Preparation of the monthly management reports.
• Ensuring accountability, accuracy, and integrity of financial transactions within the general ledger and responsible for ensuring the chart of accounts is relevant to the agency’s business needs.
• Responsible for system administration and development of the financial management information system and performs month-end and year-end processes.
• Supervises the accounts receivable, accounts payable functions.
• Ensures compliance with GST taxation requirements, including preparation and lodgement of the BAS return.
• Provides advice, training and mentoring to staff and stakeholders as required.
• Monitoring and assisting with aged debtors and WIP analysis.
• Preparation of year-end financial accounts, budgets and passing year end adjusting journal entries.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and reviewing key control account reconciliations.
• Examining bank statements and reconciling them with general ledger entries.
• Liaising with the external Auditors.
• Supervising junior accounting staff.
• Reporting & reconciliation of subsidiary companies where Directors have ownership.
• Property Development register maintenance, reconciliation of accounts.
• Assisting with any overflow work from the Finance Manager.
Requirements for the role
• At least a relevant Bachelor level qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant, post-qualification experience.
• Accounting skills to undertake the duties listed above.
Salary: the salary range for the role is in the range of $73,150 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
