Task & Responsibilities Planning, Designing, Building, and Commissioning Examine drawings, specifications, and work areas to determine the optimal positioning and connections for equipment installation. Install telecommunications equipment and appliances such as telephones, switchboards, and data transmission devices. Attach wires and cables to appliances, ensuring secure and effective connections. Install cabling for various services including telephone, radio, pay TV, and computer transmissions. Join cables and seal sheaths using lead and thermoplastic to ensure durability and protection. Locate faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and transmission measuring tools. Adjust, replace, and repair faulty items, testing the equipment with electronic instruments to ensure they are functioning correctly. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all telecommunications systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance and support future audits. Site Development & System Configuration: Erect, test, and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Maintain and service radio and mobile phone antennae to ensure optimal signal transmission and reception. System Monitoring, Performance Assessment and Future Planning: Ensure the seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure. Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in the provision and maintenance of telecommunications systems. Plan and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability and evaluate the performance levels of system hardware and software to project future needs. Develop both short-term and long-term plans for updating equipment, adding capabilities, and enhancing existing systems to meet evolving telecommunications demands. Qualification & Experience Required a completed degree/diploma in telecom Experience: 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the telecommunications field.
