• Read and work based on plans and specifications.
• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units in a precise and systematic manner to construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
• Set foundations, align bricks, and ensure levels and plumb surfaces, using tools such as levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Mix mortar and concrete according to specified proportions and apply them accurately for proper adhesion and durability.
• Seal foundations using damp-resistant materials.
• Embed blocks and bricks in mortar and remove excess mortar.
• Repair and maintain clay bricks, cement blocks or bricks and related structures.
• Cut and shape bricks and masonry units to fit around windows, corners, and other obstacles using saws, chisels, and other cutting tools.
• Apply finishing touches, such as pointing, tuck pointing, and sealing, to enhance the appearance and integrity of completed structures.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, to ensure seamless integration of various elements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work area to ensure optimal efficiency and safety.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, if applicable.

• Must hold a relevant Certificate III in Bricklaying, Blocklaying, or 3 years experience in lieu of qualification.
• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and tools.
• Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of manual labour.
• Understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow them diligently.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
