Join TAL’s in house legal team as Corporate Counsel. Reporting to one of our Heads of Legal, you will be responsible for supporting the TAL business with legal support across a number of areas including life insurance, superannuation, agreements with distribution partners, marketing and advertising, aggregator service providers, regulatory developments and breach reporting.
This role is a six month contract, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
In this role you will:
- Advise on life insurance products, policy documents, and agreements required for TAL’s business including with our distribution Alliance partners.
- Negotiate and draft contractual terms of arrangements with Alliance partners, distributors, and third-party suppliers.
- Review disclosure material and marketing.
- Provide advice on legal matters relevant to the business including the Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Life Insurance Act, Superannuation laws and other legislation relevant to a financial services business (including privacy law).
- Pro-actively identify regulatory or legislative developments relating to the TAL’s Direct, Retail, and Group Life insurance businesses.
- Assist with legal advice on breach reporting and remediation.
- Support the needs of the broader Legal team, when required.
