The Senior Delivery Lead role is central to the running of multiple squads to set them up for success in prioritising, planning and executing on transformation initiatives using Scrum or Kanban frameworks. They enable the squads through removing any impediments while facilitating transparency of all the work, progress of sprint goals and capacity to interested stakeholders as well as to the squads themselves.
The role is also responsible for ensuring the squads adhere to agile methodologies and principles and involves organising and facilitating agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint planning and retrospectives. On occasion, they will also be expected to assist other Delivery Leads or squads in establishing best practice and agile ways of working wherever coaching is required.

Responsible for application of the agile & scrum values and principles in day-to-day routine
Responsible for ensuring full participation of all squad members in the delivery of value
Play a lead in the planning and facilitation of tribal agile ceremonies of Showcase & Big Room Planning (BRP)
Responsible for the application and facilitation of the Continuous Improvement practices and team mindset
Responsible for removing squads blockers with support from the Product Manager or management if needed to ensure planned sprints are delivered as expected.
Responsible for ensuring team norms are understood and followed
Ensures continual improvement practices are applied and agreed actions are implemented
Mentor and Coach the team to be empowered and instill a proactive, positive and innovative team culture
Work closely with Product Managers on prioritization of the squad backlog to maximize value delivered
Responsible for ongoing health of the squad, ensuring that it is set up to deliver end-to-end outcomes, providing coaching & feedback, ensuring resources are planned effectively and are fully utilized.
Ensures that the squads have engaged with business stakeholders (internal customers) insights and feedback during the delivery of their work. A clear link between insights and action development should be visible.
Works with other product managers to ensure that their squads backlog is prioritized appropriately to meet cross-team dependencies.
Works closely with the squads to remove impediments and “roadblocks” for the squad.
Decides whether the work the squads have delivered is ready for release, works with the squads to define criteria for work to be released and is accountable for the quality of the squad’s released work.
Where necessary, support vendor selections as part of the decision to build or buy product solutions.
