Our Client Prom Country Aged Care Inc, ABN – 95 527 897 647 – Located in Victoria, Melbourne is seeking a Full-time Residential Care Officer
Salary - $73,000 - $75,000 per year
This position works within the Care team and reports to the Registered Nurse. It is expected that the Residential Care Worker will work under general supervision only, with the requirement to exercise some judgement and independent decision-making. The Residential Carer does not hold any supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES:
• Maintain accurate and up to date documentation including notes, assessments and care plans
• Observe, report and document all changes in resident need requirements
• Ensure maintenance of clean linen, and making of beds for residents
• Maintain neat and tidy storage of resident clothing
• Accurately deliver laundered clothing to residents’ rooms
• Assist with the serving of meals assisting residents as required
• Assist in the delivery of specialised nursing needs for residents
• Provide consistently high-quality care to all residents
• Support independence of residents by providing appropriate assistance with personal care in accordance with care plans
• Liaise with staff, residents, visitors, GPs and allied health professionals to provide prompt and friendly service
• Act to protect the rights of residents including confidentiality, privacy, individual choice and decision-making
• Provide emotional support to residents
• Actively participate in the Care team environment
• Build and maintain effective relationships
• Ensure compliance against the Aged Care Standards is maintained where appropriate
• Be responsive to the needs of PCAC and its changing environment
• Demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Improvement and active participation within the ‘Complicare’ system
• Attend meetings and compulsory education as required
• Identify self-education needs
• Participate in safety and improvement activities for the organization
• Identify and report areas of risk (including complaints) within the scope of the position
• Demonstrate adherence to all OH & S policies and procedures
• Display responsibility for self, team and environment
• Ensure compliance with all legislation and other requirements relevant to your position
• Observe and practice the principles and obligations of Equal Employment Opportunity and maintain a workplace free from bullying and harassment
• Comply with and promote PCAC policies and procedures
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
This position will require the following from the employee:
• Must provide a NDIS worker screening clearance that is dated not more than five years old to enable the assessment of whether the employee is suitable to provide care under the Aged Care Act.
• Must comply with having annual flu vaccination and be fully immunised against COVID-19.
• Must sign a statutory declaration to identify serious criminal activity committed outside of Australia. to comply with Prom Country Aged Care Inc’s Code of Conduct.
• Two years of on-the-job experience.
• All PCAC appointments are subject to a satisfactory police check with no disclosures
• Diploma in Aged Care field or equivalent
• Current Victorian driver’s license
• Own transportation
• Loves to work in a great team environment.
• A desire for long term employment.
