Position: Full-Time Fitter
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About Us: At Jenish Furniture, we specialize in the manufacturing of high-quality desktops, lockers, desks, office furniture, and custom joinery. Our commitment to excellence and innovation sets us apart in the industry, and we are currently seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine suitable materials, methods, sequences of operations, and machine settings based on technical drawings and specifications.
• Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
• Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Set guides, stops, and other controls on machining tools; set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses; adjust controls for textile machines.
• Form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal.
• Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
• Prepare pattern mechanisms to control the operation of textile machines used for spinning, weaving, knitting, sewing, and tufting fabric.
• Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance of machines, overhaul and repair mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
• May erect machines and equipment on-site as needed.
Qualifications:
• AQF Certificate III in Engineering (Fitting and Turning) or equivalent, including at least two years of on-the-job training.
• Alternatively, AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or relevant experience.
Experience:
• At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
