Job Description
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Record financial transactions in accounting software or spreadsheets and reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
2. Preparation of tax returns, financial statements, Activity Statements, FBT returns, cash flow statements, for all entity types - companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders on Handi Tax & filing.
3. Analyse legal principles and issues in corporations and trust law matters and then apply
this knowledge to provide advice to clients.
4. Implement latest changes from ATO & ASIC & monitoring progress and liaising with the
clients. Register companies with ASIC and apply for TFN and ABN for all entities and explain them about their tax obligations.
5. Investigate all errors identified are followed up and advising business clients, liaising with
ATO in matters of penalty remissions and provide information to ATO in case of Audits.
6. Liaise with tax office in relation to any type of audits or reviews of the entities in relation to
their tax affairs.
7.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and laws. Assist with internal and external audits.
8. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, identifying areas and advising clients on reduction of taxes, claims and how to enhance profitability and minimize tax liabilities.
9.Maintaining internal control systems May appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects.
10. Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting, and financial regulations,
whilst compiling, analysing, and reporting financial data.
11. Support financial planning activities, including long-term financial projections and strategic planning and provide financial analysis to support decision-making processes
12. Provide summary of impact on latest changes in regulatory guidelines and regulations
regarding the business and tax advice.
13. Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking, and
inter-company reconciliations.
14. Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
15. Weekly cash flow reporting.
16.Examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure Providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
17. Quarterly BAS report preparation including GST reconciliations and submission to ATO.
18. Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations and participate in strategic discussions to help achieve organizational goals.
19. Guide clients in selecting computer-based accounting systems and proficiently manage internal accounts using softwares as Xero, Myob and QuickBooks.
Skills Required
1. Minimum 2 years experience in similar role.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Be client focused and efficient.
5. A solid understanding of Tax accounting principles and practices.
6. Experience in using Xero and MYOB.
7. Have experience in preparing an lodgment of Tax and BAs returns.
8. Have excellent communication and inter personal skills in dealing with clients.
