Your new role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for completing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Payable functions, as well as general accounts officer tasks. In such a high-volume and fast-paced role, the team leader will expect the accounts function to be completed in an accurate and timely manner. Your core roles include but not limited to:
Accounts Receivable tasks
Issuing of claims, allocating payments & receipting of claims.
Sending reminders and contacting clients, marketers & brokers with outstanding accounts.
Generate weekly and monthly financial reports detailing accounts receivable status.
Resolving disputes tactfully and negotiating effectively to collect payments within our payment terms.
Processing of commission invoices for marketers.
Managing supplier rebates.
Accounts Payable tasks
Facilitating the invoices for scanning & uploading into AP software.
Managing the AP workflow process, identifying & follow-up any discrepancies.
Preparation of weekly, mid-month and EOM payment runs, once approved.
Upload all approved invoices into the financial software.
Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.
Processing of back charges to subcontractors & suppliers.
Set-up & monitor subcontractors/supplier compliance.
Reconciliation of subcontractors & supplier's monthly statements.
General Accounts Officer tasks
Assist Financial Controller and Finance Officer in End of Month reconciliations.
Accept ad-hoc tasks as prioritised and allocated by the Financial Controller.
Bank Reconciliations (credit cards and bank accounts).
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
Handle confidential documents and information using appropriate control methods.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous accounts payable experience and the ability to handle a high volume of manual data entries. This role is ideal if you have a positive attitude and can contribute to a team environment. You will have a strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering quality results. Construction/building industry experience would be preferable but not mandatory.
