Our client, Milkon Steel, is currently seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator for a full-time position. The role offers a salary of $70,000 to $75,000 per annum, plus superannuation. The business is located in Seaford, Victoria.

The qualified Metal Fabricator will perform the following duties:
• Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine job requirements.
• Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock to ensure optimal quality and performance.
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes precisely using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machines.
• Expertly shaping and bending metal sections and pipes with both hand and machine tools, as well as heating and hammering methods.
• Aligning and positioning parts to be joined accurately with hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Joining metal sections with advanced welding techniques, as well as bolting and riveting to ensure strong, durable connections.
• Thoroughly inspecting welds for bead width, penetration, and precision to uphold high-quality standards.
• Finishing products by expertly cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions to achieve a superior finish.
• Smoothing and cleaning welds using filing, chiselling, and grinding techniques to ensure a flawless final product.
• Maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
• Applying protective coatings to finished products to prevent corrosion and enhance durability.
Qualifications:
• The minimum qualifications required include a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade, along with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
