They currently require an Actuary: Senior Underwriter to join their team in Sydney.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Analyse financial and economic data to predict and assess the long-term risk involved in financial decisions and planning;
- Apply models to experimental observations and adjust and recast the models;
- Check of Wordings and other Underwriting related documents, including designing new types of policies, assessing risks;
- Define, analyse and solve complex financial and business problems relating to area of expertise;
- Detailed evaluation/analysis of new and renewal offers, including coverage and exposures issues statistical experience;
- Develop pricing models, using concepts such as Chain Ladder, BF, Burning Cost, Pareto, Pareto-Poisson in order to come to technical price for decision making;
- Evaluate and describe the reliability and utility of source information;
- Price complex risks in all classes of business and prepare quotations and re-quotations with the support of GQS, GRM tools, Portfolio Analysis and Optimisation;
- Provide advanced analytical support for treaty and facultative divisions, where required, using numerical analysis methods to develop algorithms and perform computations.
To be considered you will need a level of skill commensurate with a relevant bachelor degree and at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification actuarial employment experience.
