About the role

• Metro Melbourne location
• Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials and job requirements
• Assist with scheduling and co-ordination work and materials on job sites
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Adhere to OH&S procedures and SWMS
Skills and experience
• Certificate III or equivalent
• Candidates with 5 years experience in the industry or relevant field are preferred
• Drivers licence & vehicle
• White card
• Able to work safely and in accordance with all procedures and SWMS
• Understanding of construction plans
• Proficient in all aspects of Metal Fabrication
• Be reliable, hard-working, safety-driven, and have their own tools, transport, and construction tickets.
