At ABTAS MARKETING PTY LTD, we are actively recruiting for a dedicated Aquaculture Farmer to join our team on a full-time basis, committing to 40 hours per week. This pivotal role involves a wide array of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the health, growth, and sustainability of our aquatic species. As an integral part of our aquaculture operations, you will be entrusted with the following key duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managing aquatic habitats to ensure optimal conditions for aquatic species.
• Developing feeding schedules and nutritional plans to promote growth and health.
• Overseeing breeding programs and managing hatcheries for successful reproduction.
• Monitoring the health of aquatic organisms and implementing disease management strategies.
• Harvesting mature aquatic organisms and ensuring proper handling and processing.
• Maintaining accurate records of farming activities and preparing reports as needed.
• Performing routine maintenance on aquaculture equipment and facilities.
• Adhering to environmental regulations and promoting sustainable aquaculture practices.
• Implementing research findings and innovations to enhance productivity and sustainability in aquaculture operations.

Skills and experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or alternatively, a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the industry.
• Strong understanding of aquaculture principles, practices, and techniques.
• Knowledge of water quality management, feeding strategies, and disease prevention in aquaculture settings.
• Ability to manage and supervise aquaculture operations effectively.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
• Essential to the role is a minimum of 1 year experience with Flat Fish.
• A minimum of 6 months experience in Abalone Nursery supervision, including the ability to oversee Abalone Nursery and Flatfish research projects independently.

Position: Full Time
Salary: $70,000 – 74,000 per year
