PROK CONVEYOR COMPONENTS PTY LTD is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Machinist to join our team. As a Metal Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating metalworking machinery to fabricate, modify, or repair metal parts and components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with various machining processes, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Machine Operation:
o Set up and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, lathes, milling machines, and other metalworking equipment.
o Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine machining requirements.
o Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for specific tasks.
o Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Metal Fabrication:
o Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal parts and components according to specifications.
o Use hand tools, power tools, and machines to fabricate parts with precision.
o Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Quality Control:
o Conduct regular inspections of machinery and finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
o Identify and troubleshoot issues with machine performance or product defects.
o Maintain accurate records of measurements, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Safety and Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
o Adhere to workplace safety standards and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management practices.
o Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding project progress and any issues encountered.
o Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
