Global Contractor Management Solutions is looking for a skilled Residential Care Officer who fits the following profile:
Role Purpose:
Residential Care Officers play an integral role in the Accommodation and Care Services,
creating and maintaining a safe and caring environment for disabled aged clients in care
and Children with additional needs. Residential Care Officer is responsible for providing
emotional, medical, and physical support to the clients in care.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Practice holistic, high-quality, safe, and efficient and effective care to new clients as well as monitoring and reporting progress of clients.
• Develop and implement care plans in accordance with individual needs and ensure completion of daily documentation and required assessments for residents each shift.
• Respond to urgent issues in a timely manner and engage with appropriate support services
• Liaising with family of clients in relation to services provided as well as education and care needed.
• Creatively engage residents in meaningful physical and mental activities.
• Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private business about community issues and promote awareness of community resources and services
• Uphold the philosophies of the organisation and adhere to service policies and procedures
• Ensure that families and significant others are included in the care planning process and in any decision affecting the residents.
• Respond and support to clients with a flexible approach to their emotional and physical needs.
Skills & Experience
• Tertiary Qualifications in the Health Care/Aged Care industry
• Over 2 years of work experience in the industry
• A compassionate, supportive, and positive behaviour and attitude.
• An understanding of the ageing process
• A comprehensive knowledge on age as well as disability related health issues
• Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in interacting with a wide range of people
• Ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to residents’ needs
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Location: North Sydney, NSW 2060
Salary: $89,000 per year
