suezwater Acting as an integral member of the Engineering and Construction multi-disciplinary team, the CAD Team Leader will manage the assigned drafting team, prepare technical drawings, sketches, and other documentation as required to support feasibility studies, basic and detailed design projects, and provide site drafting support and completion documentation for those projects. The role will manage design-drafters and external resources as dictated by the project and/or organisational needs, as directed by the Installation & Piping Lead. Benefits Permanent, full-time position. Task & Responsibilities Complete activities and tasks assigned by the I&P Lead or the Design Manager for specific project work. Manage and coordinate drafting and modelling activities within the engineering team, including management of out-sourced drafting services where required. Prepare progress, productivity and utilisation reports as requested by I&P Lead or Design Manager. Provide instruction and mentoring to design drafters. Ensure that engineering drawings and other drafting deliverables comply with Australian Standards, SUEZ standards and other client specified requirements. Check drawings for compliance with SUEZ internal design processes, specifications and standards Ensure design drawings are suitable for construction with all necessary dimensions and details and fit for the intended purpose Participate in reviews and meetings as required Participate in the planning of projects as required. Participate in inter-disciplinary design and drafting coordination Participate in reviews of plant, equipment and design, including HAZOPs, Safety in Design reviews, Value Engineering reviews, etc. Assist with the development of an integrated drafting platform for engineering, including drafting resources, software and tools. Assist with the development and updating of standard drafting tools, templates, libraries, etc. Qualification & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering desirable but not essential. 5+ years of design/engineering experience in water, civil, construction, or relevant industry. Familiarity with the design and/or operation of water and wastewater treatment plants and mechanical equipment commonly used in these installations. Experience with equipment specifications, selection and evaluation. Experience with multi-disciplinary teams developing detail designs and documentation for construction.
