SUMMARY
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Operations Controller with expertise in cost-to-serve and budget management. This role will work on improving financial reporting, analyzing data, formulating and controlling budgets for operations.
A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
- Elaborate and improve the current logistics cost reporting
- Build robust methodology/templates to calculate the costs for new and existing products and services
- Improve the stability and accuracy of the logistics cost retrieval process.
- Budgeting / Forecasting / Simulation of the logistics costs
- Participate in the improvements of the budget tool (Anaplan)
- Support and improve the process of the monthly provision
- Standardize cost reporting with affiliates (integrated and non-integrated)
- Monthly analysis of the freight factors (cost allocation to stock) and improve the accuracy
- Executive summary and variance analysis of the result vs budget, and result vs result previous year (DENV stand alone and corporate consolidated)
- After cost analysis, make cost improvement proposals to management.
- Generate the logistics forecast for the logistics partners
- Liaise with Operations Execution, Centre of Excellence, Launch Management., Planning and Strategic Contracts areas to identify any improvement areas to ensure continuous efficiency and effectiveness
- Coordinate with auditors in events impacting cost, provide the necessary documentation and addressing any audit findings and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Implement and maintain robust regulatory and internal controls compliance to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies
- Support ad hoc tasks and projects upon requirements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role: (If any, otherwise you can skip)
- The ideal candidate for this function has an Economic, Accountancy, Business or related professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA) with a sound understanding of accounting standards.
- You have strong (business) analytical skills and are able to detect and solve problems quickly and independently.
- Solid relevant experience in costing related roles (7+ years in costing, 3+ years leading a team), with strong cost management background in a logistics or manufacturing environment, preferably from an MNC or public listed company
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems and Excel
- Strong and positive interpersonal skills with excellent and effective communication across different levels in organization, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills and able to work under tight deadlines independently and as a team player
- Strong sense of responsibility, independence, and motivation
- Ability to provide insightful insights and recommendations for improvement
