Financial Accountant, permanent opportunity to work within a not-for-profit organisation

This recognisable, charitable organisation is looking to grow its finance team by hiring a new Financial Accountant. Supported by the Finance Manager, this is a great opportunity for the right individual to build their career within a meaningful organisation, adding value to the local community.
Your new role
You will be interviewed for the role of Financial Accountant. Within this role your duties will include but not be limited to:
Prepare and process various charges to be allocated across the organisation
Analyse monthly accounts and process any adjustments required. Report on any major variances with reasons and actions to be taken
Prepare monthly and accurate general ledger reconciliation using the company software
Prepare monthly BAS return, annual FBT return and company tax return
Prepare daily cash position and transfer funds between accounts and investments as required
Prepare monthly accounts and year-end adjustments
Prepare monthly payroll data to support portfolio accountants on the wage costs analysis
Assist with the preparation, analysis and reporting of the annual budget
Develop, extend and ensure adherence to the organisation's standards, policy and internal control procedures, and to ensure adherence to all tax, legal, audit and accounting standard requirements
Ensure that all functions are being performed efficiently and that optimum quality of service and professional standards are maintained and that all the requirements of the statutory bodies for programs are met
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Financial Accountant with previous experience in a similar role. Previous exposure in a not-for-profit environment would be highly advantageous. You will have excellent business partnering skills and relevant accounting qualifications. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines is critical to the success of this role.
