BenefitsTask & Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be responsible to (but not limited): Develop menus and estimate costs for ingredients and staff. Cook and present dishes as per menu specifications. Mentor apprentices and kitchen staff, enhancing their skills. Uphold and clarify food safety standards. Ensure the quality of food throughout preparation and service. Assign responsibilities within the kitchen team. Lead kitchen staff, stepping in when necessary. Foster a culture of creativity and excellence. Oversee stock levels and order supplies as needed. Qualification & Experience The successful candidate for this exciting position will report to the Head Chef and will possess: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef, preferable with experience in Mexican cuisine Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery (Certificate IV) and Hospitality Management (Diploma level) Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills Have a passion for Mexican food and a great attitude Experience working in fast pace & high-volume establishments Experience working in Mexican establishments will be preferable Previous people management experience will be preferable Reliable and punctual Strong time management skills and a diligent work ethic Experience with stock control, ordering, supplier sourcing & costings Must have impeccable health and hygiene standards Availability to work up to and above 38 hours per week, including late nights and weekends About Company We’ve been serving some of the Southeast Queensland’s best Mexican food and drinks at our two-rooftop restaurant and bars for several years and our focus is to keep finding ways to be better and keep showing our guests an incredible time.
