SUMMARY:
Our client, Marhaba Biryani, is seeking to add a skilled Chef to their team. Marhaba Biryani offers a world of flavours and spices, creating a dining experience that transports customers to another world. Their chef prepares authentic dishes fresh daily, providing a wide range of Indian cuisine.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks.
- Plan and develop new menu items.
- Monitor inventory and control food costs.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff.
- Maintain high standards of food quality.
- Handle and store food correctly.
- Create custom meal options for dietary needs.
- Reduce food waste through strategic planning.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Ensure consistency in food presentation.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Relevant Australian qualification (Certificate IV or Diploma) in hospitality or commercial cookery.
- Minimum two years of work experience in a similar role.
- Expertise in Indian cuisines, particularly Mughlai and North Indian dishes.
- Strong kitchen management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Availability to work weekends, late nights, and public holidays.
