About the role:
Magellan Power is a leading Australian manufacturer of Industrial AC and DC backup power systems and Energy storage and a supplier of choice for the resources and heavy industry for the past 30 years. We are now seeking an enthusiastic Electrician to be assigned in Queensland, to be fully trained in industrial commissioning, preventative maintenance, service and repair of Magellan and other DC Battery Chargers and UPS at various sites across Australia. When not on site you will be based at the Magellan’s Bibra Lake factory where you will be preparing for upcoming jobs, conducting repairs on returned equipment and performing factory testing of new products.
Day-to-day activities will include:
· Commissioning and troubleshooting industrial and commercial equipment including but not limited to the following: - DC Battery Chargers - Uninterruptable Power Supply - Battery banks (Lead Acid and Lithium)
· Examining electrical wiring plans and specifications to determine the process of installation
· Measuring and determining installation points
· Selecting, cutting and connecting wires and cables
· Diagnosing Electrical faults
· Repairing and replacing faulty wires and parts
· Positioning and installing electrical switchboards ensuring connectivity
· Follow Occupational Health and Safety guidelines
· Maintenance work as required
· Quality feedback from the site
· Providing excellent customer service on-site, and over the phone
Required
· Electrical License or Equivalent Overseas License
· Appropriate relevant qualification
· Minimum 2 years of experience
· Manual Driver's License
· Effective verbal and written Communication and interpersonal skills
· Confidence to work alone as well as in a team Completing all reports following visits accurately and promptly
· Current LVR CPR
