Contour Personnel are a leading HR and executive search agency based in Australia and we are partnering with specialist retail analytics company to attract a dynamic and experienced Technical Business Analyst to join their team in Melbourne.
You will be working cross-functionally to define and communicate business requirements and capabilities in context of clients’ needs and business goals. You will also be responsible for documenting requirements, features, user stories and acceptance criteria, as well as helping to develop and document technology capabilities and processes. Strong communication skills, experience working in a fast-paced environment and experience working on complex software projects are the key to being successful in this role.
Your responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with the development team to ensure that requirements are understood and implemented correctly
Develop and maintain project documentation, including capability descriptions, process maps and other relevant materials
Create user and training documentation and deliver training sessions to ensure successful adoption of new solutions
Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies to the project manager or other stakeholders as appropriate
Contribute to projects for improvements to business processes and technology, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions
Collaborate with UX designers to ensure that user interfaces are intuitive and meet the needs of end-users
Manage top-down and agile planning and development cycles, and track progress against milestones and deliverables
Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
Prepare for and conduct system and user acceptance testing, preparing work instructions, test scripts, and coordinating test data to ensure successful implementation
Your Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field
3+ years of experience as a business analyst or similar role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in an agile development environment
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
Knowledge of data modelling, process mapping, and other business analysis techniques
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience working in the retail or analytics industry is a plus
This role is Melbourne based with a salary range of $95,000-$115,000.
