Salary: $82,000 plus 11.5% superannuation

Our client Bhullar Engineering Pty Ltd is an all Australian owned and operated company that specialises in Metals & Steel, Welded Beams, Pre-Fabricated Steel and Steel Processing. Bhullar Steel has been proudly supplying welded sections to the Australian market for over 10 years.

Bhullar Group provides one-stop-shop for manufacturing, fabrication and installation services of crane grillage and also have been providing solutions for civil and construction projects including temporary and permanent. Bhullar Steel have successfully completed structural steel projects involving custom built-up sections and the capabilities include detail drawings, fabrication, painting and installation.

The client is looking for a Support Technician in a full-time permanent role and you will be accountable for managing allocated steel fabrication projects to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in the steel industry. This role involves working closely with engineering team to ensure the highest standards of fabrication and welding of steel products.

Some of the indispensable duties that the Support Technician should expect to perform include but are not limited to perform all types of mechanical maintenance tasks including assembling, testing, and installing all mechanical systems. You will also be required to evaluate design drawings for new or changed tools by measuring dimensions on the drawings and comparing them with the original specifications.

Minimum Requirements:
• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within the steel or manufacturing industry.
• A sound understanding of mechanic systems in machines, equipment and tools
• A background in welding and construction industry is highly desirable

In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Maintaining machinery, machine related tools and parts, and all equipment in proper operation condition
• Inspecting equipment and identifying issues which need correction and record test procedures and results and recommendations for changes
• Reviewing instructions and blueprints for projects and repairs to ensure the test specification and procedures are followed and objectives are met
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Identifying mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation or by other methods based on mechanical knowledge
• Disassembling equipment to gain access to defective parts and repair or replace parts
• Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Perform quality control checks on welded beams and pre-fabricated steel products.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for all engineering activities.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Ensure that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the immediate Supervisor

To be considered for this role:
• 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician
• Experience of working in an engineering environment is ideal
• Experience with interpretation of various technical drawings including mechanical, hydraulic and general arrangement drawings
• A sound understanding of mechanic systems in machines, equipment and tools
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of different Mechanical Design software
• Understand and thrive in a high compliance, process driven environment
• Excellent diagnostic skills
