Qualifications & experience
Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) Level 4 or 5
Forklift License will be an advantage
Tasks & responsibilities
Perform welding and steel fabrication tasks in the manufacturing, maintaining and repairing of spray rig components. At times you will be required to perform additional tasks i.e assembly of components for builds.
Seal weld, tig weld and cut steel components with the use of jigs, diagrams, plans or blue prints, if available.
Order, receive and verify all supplied materials delivered relating to welding
Operate a fork lift (if certified), pallet jack, vehicle with trailer (if hold a valid license) or other tools as required/directed in order to move materials and/or supplies
Perform simple equipment and/or machinery maintenance as required. Have a basic understanding and ability to operate a computer/laptop and use Company software to completed required paperwork for jobs. Perform stock inventory control activities and process orders for supplies relating to welding
Follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain an orderly work space and clean all equipment/tools used. Be reasonably physically fit (able to lift heavy items correctly) and stand/walk for 8 hours a day
Use common sense and independent thought to solve problems as they arise. Work comfortably without direct supervision and be self-motivated. Be punctual and have a good work ethic
Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a high level of understanding of both spoken and written English. Understand both verbal and written directions, interpret job orders accurately and correctly to create products/components as outlined.
Understand basic math principles and be able to read a measuring tape precisely in order to work with measurements
Be able to support and provide guidance for a second year apprentice
Working hours will be 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Best part.....no weekend work!
