About You
The Animal Technician, reporting to the Technical Coordinator, supports laboratory and workspace users by ensuring optimal animal care, husbandry, and health monitoring in accordance with SOPs. Responsibilities include maintaining detailed records and upholding high standards of animal welfare. This role is integral to RMIT RAF's service delivery and may involve varying duties depending on operational needs, such as changes in supported animal species, quantities, and research requirements.
Under the Technical Coordinator's guidance, the Animal Technician contributes to laboratory upkeep, implements OHS standards, and promotes best practices.
To be successful in this position, you?ll have:
Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining inbred, outbred and GMO breeding colonies and proficiency in associated husbandry and identification
