Employment Opportunity The Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Branch leads modern slavery law and policy, including relevant Divisions of the Criminal Code, the administration of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) , key Government commitments, implementing the National Action Plan to Combat Modern Slavery 2020-2025, and undertaking related international engagement and capacity building. The Business and Government Engagement Section is responsible for the regulation and administration of the Modern Slavery Act and for leading Commonwealth reporting under the Act, including:
managing the online Modern Slavery Statements Register, providing guidance materials for reporting entities, and an entity helpdesk service
undertaking compliance assessments of modern slavery statements submitted by reporting entities in line with legislation
