CALAIS ACCOUNTING PTY LTD The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including but not limited to, examining, analyzing, and advising on financial matters, maintaining compliance with financial reporting standards, and providing strategic advice to clients. BenefitsTask & Responsibilities Duties: Lodging clients' obligations such as Individual Tax Returns (ITR), Company Tax Returns (CTR), Trust Tax Returns (TRT), and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF). Dealing with Business Clients, including PTY and Trust structures. Assisting in preparing Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT). Organizing meetings with clients and analyzing reports necessary to advise on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation. Engaging regularly with clients and maintaining solid relationships. Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations through business consultancy. Supporting international telephone services in English and Portuguese. Responsibilities: Analyzing business reports to assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies. Keeping up with Companies' Financial Statements. Reviewing monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets to ensure accuracy of information in financial reports. Maintaining compliance with statutory requirements as per professional standards. Identifying areas where clients and businesses can reduce tax, make claims, and increase profit. Preparing and lodging Companies' Tax Returns. Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies as required. Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements. Qualification & Experience Skills and Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting role in Australia. Experience with the Australian Taxation system legislation and procedures. Experience with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) system. Degree-qualified in Accounting and a member of CA/CPA/IPA. Knowledge of Portuguese to support the team and some customers. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve targets/results. Advanced organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines within short time frames with minimum supervision.
