Assistant Metallurgist required for a 3-month contract We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Metallurgist to join our client's team in the mining industry. As an Assistant Metallurgist, you will assist in conducting research, analysing data, and providing support with various metallurgical processes.
In this role, you will work closely with the Metallurgist team to optimise production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement new technologies to enhance the metallurgical operations. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth running of projects, and provide technical guidance to the production team. Responsibilities
Conduct metallurgical tests and experiments to analyse raw materials and optimise production processes
Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality standards
Analyse data from various tests and experiments to identify trends and recommend process improvements
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and production, to ensure the smooth running of projects
Provide technical support to the production team and troubleshoot any metallurgical issues
Assist in maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment and instruments
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in metallurgical processes, and share knowledge with the team
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field
Solid understanding of metallurgical processes, including mineral processing, smelting, and refining
Experience with metallurgical testing and analysis techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
