Australasia Elevators and Engineering Company was established with a vision to ensure provision of quality services to onboard elevators in the criteria of supply and installation of Marine Elevators, Food Lifts and Dumbwaiters and survey and certification of all brands of marine elevators for class approvals.
The client is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician in a full-time permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and certification of marine elevator systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and performance.
Minimum Requirements:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Install and maintain elevator systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of elevator systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Conduct works maintenance servicing and carrying out repairs in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks to address mechanical issues promptly and effectively.
• Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, maintenance activities, and repair work.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to improve system designs and performance.
• Ensure that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
• Assist in the certification process of elevator systems, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in elevator technology and maintenance practices.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and industry best practices.
To be considered for this role:
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician, preferably in the elevator or marine industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and elevator technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
