Civil Engineering Assistant/Project Manager

Powerplant is an engineering service business delivering tailored network services, design and project management solutions to the utilities, urban development and infrastructure sector. An exciting and rewarding opportunity currently exists to join our team.

Key Accountabilities:
• Set up technical instruments to collect and analyse data.
• Assist civil engineers in the design and planning of infrastructure, including foundations, structures, and site development.
• Conduct site visits gathering sample and performing test.
• Prepare the engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Interpret work instructions and coordinate between teams.
• Implement and select appropriate procedures and equipment to ensure the delivery of projects safely, within budget and to agreed timelines and quality.
• Identify potential risks related to engineering tasks and assisting in developing mitigation plans.
• Estimate material costs and ensure finished works meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
• Arrange maintenance and repair work.
• Support the works management function within Powerplant including works processes, systems, resource requirements and project methodologies

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Diploma or higher in Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years work experience in a relevant field
• Proven ability to deliver outstanding results through the implementation of business improvement initiatives and innovation
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work constructively within a high performing team environment
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
